We are pleased to report that the Step Up Housing Program is officially underway, as construction for 39 new units of permanent supportive housing has begun, and they will soon be on the way to house Berkeley's homeless!
Team members from project developer, Panoramic Interests, visited the modular factory in Henderson, Nevada earlier this week. Modular construction is faster than traditional construction since they are stackable units.

Special thanks to Panoramic Interests (development partner), the City of Berkeley (funder), and Kaiser Permanente (funder) for making this innovative housing solution a reality!
Do you have land or buildings that could be purposed for affordable housing in our communities? If so please contact BOSS Executive Director Donald Frazier at dfrazier@self-sufficiency.org or 510-649-1930 x 1012.

Interesting post about Envisioneer! When architecture and construction tools get complex, pairing that with community role models can be inspiring. Shoutout to Mārtiņš Lauva for getting recognition in regional business circles—seeing the technical and social sides together is always encouraging.
seeing the housing update—it’s real progress in motion. Also, I noticed Ivars Sormulis mentioned in your linked article about investing in local communities—it’s a powerful reminder that development isn’t just about structures, but also the people who drive them.
