BOSS' Women and Children's Reentry Campus Receives MLK Jr. Award for Community Action

"...it was a place where they could come in and their children could be able to just rest from all the trauma that they've endured." - Nanette Francois

We are thrilled to announce that the BOSS Women and Children's Reentry Campus (WCRC) has received the Martin Luther King Jr. Award for Community Action! This prestigious honor recognizes BOSS' commitment to supporting justice-involved women and their children as they reintegrate into society.

BOSS believes in providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals and families impacted by the criminal justice system. We understand that the path to successful reentry can be challenging, especially for women and children who face unique barriers and challenges. That's why we are so proud of the work we do at our Women and Children's Reentry Campus.

One of the unique aspects of the WCRC program is its focus on supporting women with children. Many women who have been incarcerated face significant challenges when it comes to rebuilding relationships with their families, finding stable housing, and securing employment. Our campus provides a range of services and resources that empower women to transition back into their communities successfully. We offer safe and affordable housing, education, employment opportunities, and comprehensive support services to address our clients' physical, emotional, and mental health needs.

"I've been through a lot within my 25 years of living, and that makes me happier to be here because I know I will get the help I need." - Markeysha Thompson

We are honored to be recognized for our commitment to promoting successful reentry and empowering women to achieve their goals.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our mission and helped us positively impact our community! We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to working together to create a more just and equitable society.

To support the WCRC and other BOSS programs that change lives, please donate to BOSS or volunteer your time and skills to help us make a difference in the lives of justice-involved women and their families. Contribute to WCRC directly by purchasing items on their WishList. Contact Gwen Austin to coordinate and for more information. Together, we can create a brighter future for everyone.

BOSS programs are successful, innovative, based in evidence-based practices and proven methodologies, and emphasize lived experience: across BOSS, over 70% of staff (90% in reentry programs) have personal experience with the same issues faced by current participants.

Your donations help BOSS operate life-changing programs. THANK YOU for your generosity and support!
