Rising Stars: Building Pathways, Breaking Barriers

Every day at BOSS, we see brilliance rising out of struggle. We see neighbors who have faced impossible choices and overwhelming barriers—but who still find the courage to take the next step. These are our Rising Stars. They are parents, students, workers, creators, and leaders who represent the power of resilience when it is met with opportunity.

This year’s Rising Stars are living proof of what happens when community support meets determination. Don't miss your opportunity to support the 2025 Rising Stars Celebration of Hope!

Stories of Resilience and Triumph

Our 2025 Rising Stars are parents reunited with their children, leaders rebuilding their lives after incarceration, tenants who have become homeowners, and students who turned training into careers.

Their journeys reflect what happens when opportunity meets determination, and when a community stands behind its people. Among this year’s honorees are Mr. Morris, who advanced from reentry to employment through our Career Training and Education Center; Monique, who found stability and confidence in housing and wellness programs; Mr. Evans, who now mentors others on the path he once walked; and Mr. Crossley, whose perseverance through recovery continues to inspire his peers.

Adelya Harrison – CTEHC(Job Readiness)

  • After years out of the workforce, Adelya completed BOSS’ Job Readiness Program and secured employment. Her next goal is not just for herself—she is committed to paying it forward by helping others find their path to stability at BOSS.

Brittany Rivera – WCRC(Women and Children's Reentry Campus)

  • Brittany has balanced parenthood with her pursuit of professional training and career employment. Through grit and dedication, she is strengthening her family while building a future in the workforce.

Capri Nelson – CASA (Housing for Homeless Disabled Adults)

  • Capri overcame systemic barriers and secured permanent housing. Today, she is focused on sustaining her housing and creating new possibilities for her future. Capri’s creativity and perseverance shine as a light for others walking the same path.

Chasity Wagner – WERC(Wellness Empowerment and Resiliency Campus)

  • After months of rejection, Chasity landed full-time work and is now working toward her driver’s license. She shows us that persistence, even when doors keep closing, leads to breakthrough moments.

These stories represent only a fraction of the determination we witness across BOSS programs every day. From housing to reentry, workforce training to family reunification, our community is filled with Rising Stars ready to lead, contribute, and thrive.

But we CANNOT do this work alone.
