What Giving Tuesday Means at BOSS

This Giving Tuesday, BOSS invites you to give directly to housing, mental health, and justice work that supports people rebuilding their lives. Together, we can create stability, opportunity, and dignity that lasts.

Giving Tuesday is a movement rooted in community, equity, and care. Every year, people around the world step up to support the nonprofits doing the daily work of transformation. At BOSS, that means housing access, trauma recovery, and reentry support for people navigating some of the hardest conditions in our region.

Giving Tuesday is our chance to move resources where they matter most.

Impacts of BOSS programs from our dedicated staff:

She spent several years out of the workforce while dedicating herself to raising her family, which made re-entering the job market challenging. Despite those barriers, she approached the process with humility, faith, and determination, and has made an impressive transition back into employment - Wellness, Empowerment & Resiliency Campus in Oakland.

Gary navigated significant challenges, including homelessness and limited access to consistent support. Through persistence and trust in the CASA program, he secured housing and began rebuilding his life - Casa Maria Safe Haven in Oakland

The client has dealt with homelessness, financial mismanagement, and custody loss of her children. Through intense therapy and medication, the client has a better outlook on her mental health, which helped her be a better advocate for herself and her children - Ursula Sherman Village in Berkeley.

This Year, Your Giving Tuesday Donation Supports:

  • Permanent supportive housing through programs like Step Up

  • Mental health services, therapy, and peer support

  • Warm meals, essential supplies, and winter relief

  • Workforce and reentry case management

  • Year-round dignity and stabilization services across Alameda County
