Protect Progress & Advance Change at Breaking Barriers 4.0
AMPLIFY YOUR IMPACT - Sponsor Breaking Barriers 4.0 and help advance conversations, policies, and solutions that strengthen public safety, support crime survivors, expand reentry opportunities, and remove barriers to stability for justice-impacted individuals.

Breaking Barriers is BOSS's biennial convening focused on criminal justice reform, policy education, community dialogue, and direct services. This year's theme, Mobilizing to Protect & Advance Progress, brings together justice-impacted individuals, crime survivors, community violence intervention professionals, advocates, policymakers, service providers, and community leaders to move reform forward.
Across Alameda County, thousands of individuals navigate barriers to housing, employment, healthcare, record clearance, and economic opportunity after involvement with the justice system. Breaking Barriers creates a space where policy meets practice and where community members can connect directly to resources, services, and solutions.
This year's event will focus on protecting and advancing progress in:
• Reentry and workforce opportunities
• Community Violence Intervention (CVI)
• Trauma Recovery Centers
• Clean Slate and expungement access
• Civic engagement and voter education
• Public safety rooted in prevention, healing, and accountability
Attendees will also have access to on-site expungement services, voter registration opportunities, community resources, and conversations designed to turn policy into action.
Breaking Barriers has convened leaders, advocates, elected officials, and community members since 2017. Past events have resulted in meaningful dialogue, policy engagement, and direct service outcomes, including dozens of expungements completed onsite.
When you sponsor Breaking Barriers 4.0, you are investing in informed communities, stronger systems, and practical pathways toward opportunity and stability.
