About the event

BREAKING BARRIERS 4.0 - Mobilizing to Protect & Advance Progress

Breaking Barriers is a biennial convening that advances criminal justice reform through policy education, community dialogue, and direct legal services. We bring together justice-impacted individuals, crime survivors, reentry and violence intervention professionals, advocates, and policymakers to protect progress and push for systemic change.

This year's focus: Mobilizing to protect recent policy wins in reentry, community violence intervention (CVI), Trauma Recovery Centers, and Clean Slate expungement—and identifying next steps to advance reform at local, state, and national levels. We'll connect attendees to on-site expungement services, voter education, and voter registration to turn policy into action.
