Our Housing Programs
At BOSS, we agree with the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights that housing is a human right. We provide a range of resources to support our clients’ access to housing.
Multi-Tiered Housing
Ursula Sherman Village (USV) – Berkeley
Ursula Sherman Village is a service-rich residential ‘campus’ for homeless families and individuals—activities are designed to help homeless people live, work, learn, and heal so they can achieve health and self-sufficiency.
In one setting, the Village provides short-term housing (Harrison House, 50 single adults, 9 families) and transitional housing (Sankofa House, 10 families). Now in development is additional long-term housing (Ubuntu Center), which will include new classroom and activity space for both adults and children. Currently available on-site services include adult and children’s education, access to health and mental health care, drug/alcohol recovery support, employment and job search assistance, peer support and mentoring, meals, laundry, showers, storage, and case management.
