At BOSS, we agree with the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights that housing is a human right. We provide a range of resources to support our clients’ access to housing.

Multi-Tiered Housing

Ursula Sherman Village (USV) – Berkeley

Ursula Sherman Village is a service-rich residential ‘campus’ for homeless families and individuals—activities are designed to help homeless people live, work, learn, and heal so they can achieve health and self-sufficiency.In one setting, the Village provides short-term housing (Harrison House, 60 single adults, 8 families), transitional housing (Sankofa House, 10 families), and long-term housing (Ubuntu Center – new housing, with adult and children’s education centers, now in development; estimated completion late 2008). On-site services include adult and children’s education, access to health and mental health care, drug/alcohol recovery support, employment and job search assistance, peer support and mentoring, meals, laundry, showers, storage, and case management.Contact: (510) 525-0843
