Housing Policy and Advocacy
Creating housing helps to build new lives, enhance the economy, and improve local communities

We at BOSS believe that housing is a human right and that we have a responsibility to urge policy makers to act accordingly. Our communities need local, state, and national policies that promote affordable housing, and sufficient service revenue to ensure that all people can maintain a safe and stable place to live.
Local Advocacy
At the local level BOSS staff and homeless participants talk regularly with elected officials and policy makers, advocating solutions that are both humane and practical and explaining how particular bills may impact the lives of homeless people.
National Advocacy
On the national stage, BOSS participates in a variety of homelessness advocacy groups, and Executive Director boona cheema attends and addresses national conferences and networking forums. We work closely with other organizations that are dedicated to housing advocacy.

What can you do?
Carefully consider housing bonds and other measures put before voters by Federal, State and Local policy makers—let your voice join ours in calling for fairness in housing access and affordability, and the importance of supportive services to help those with greater challenges and disabilities to stay housed and stable.
