Make a difference in somebody's life - there are many ways to help!

BOSS needs volunteers throughout the year for different activities - tutoring, teaching classes, facility repair, painting, gardening, social justice organizing, fundraising, and special activities (e.g. holiday celebrations, birthday parties, or family field trips organized by groups).

Right now our most pressing needs are for:

  • Helpers in the after-school Children's Learning Center serving homeless kids, located at Ursula Sherman Village - BOSS's largest housing and services program, in West Berkeley.
  • Helpers in the adult program at Ursula Sherman Village.
  • Office and fundraising help.
  • Grassroots organizing on root cause issues - afforable housing, civil rights, transportation justice, and more.
