• Cash Donations: General purpose contributions are most needed of all. You can also earmark your contribution for a particular BOSS program or specific use. We accept your tax-deductible donation in many ways:
  • Mail: Make check out to BOSS and mail to: 2065 Kittredge St., Ste. E, Berkeley, CA 94704.
  • Online: Donate any time at our website at www.self-sufficiency.org (one-time or recurring).
  • Paypal: BOSS accepts donations through this safe, widely used, international funds transfer site.
  • In person: Drop off donations at the above address, M-F 9 am-5 pm.
• In Honor Of gifts: Ask folks to donate to BOSS in honor of a birthday, holiday, wedding, or bat/bar mitzvah. We will send special thank-you cards and can provide materials to give guests at your party.
• Long-term giving: Consider long-term gifts: bequests, life insurance, retirement plans or charitable trusts with BOSS as beneficiary.
• Stocks: BOSS accepts donated stocks and bonds through an account at Charles Scwab. Call Sonja at (510) 649-1930 x 222 for info or call 1-800-435-4000 to obtain a Charitable Gift Transfer form.
  
• Cars: Volunteers of America accepts donated cars for BOSS: 1-800-559-5458.They will pick up the car, process the sale and all paperwork, and send a contribution to BOSS.
• BART tickets: Get rid of small BART tickets by donating them to BOSS! We can turn them into BART for cash to support our programs. Mail or drop off at: 2065 Kittredge St., Ste. E, Berkeley, CA 94704.
• Online Services: The following can support BOSS when you use them:
  • iGive.com: Shopping mall and search engine with over 800 stores. You can download a banner for your browser so that every time you visit paricipating sites, any shopping proceeds are automatically routed to BOSS!
  • GoodSearch/GoodShop: Shopping mall and search engine with over 1,500 stores.
  • Beauty fundraising: Buy your favorite Avon products online and select BOSS to receive a donation for your purchase!
    
• Collections: Collect toiletrires, food, school or art supplies, blankets, and other needed items with your school, office, faith group, or civic club.

If your business or community group needs paper this holiday season, buy 30% or 100% recycled paper from Give Something Back, and they will donate $1 per case of paper to local food banks. $1 = 7 meals for people who need them. Since the inception of Paper=Food in 2010, the program has provided more than 1 million meals.
