How can Individuals Contribute?


There are many ways for individuals to contribute to BOSS’s work helping homeless people, and most donations are 100% tax deductible.

Cash Donations

Financial contributions are needed most of all. We can accept cash donations in three different ways:

  • By mail – mail a check made out to BOSS to the following address:2065 Kittredge St., Suite EBerkeley, CA 94704
  • Online – to complete an online donation form, click here
  • In person – please bring your donation to 2065 Kittredge St., Suite E in Berkeley, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Donations in Lieu of Gifts

One creative way to help BOSS is to ask family and friends to make donations to BOSS in lieu of birthday, holiday, or wedding gifts.

Long Term Giving

There are ways for you to make a contribution with a long-term impact -monthly donations, bequests, beneficiary tools such as life insurance or retirement plans naming BOSS as the beneficiary, or charitable trusts. Please consider a long-term way of helping us sustain assistance and support to the people who need it.

Cars

Your donated vehicle can provide a tax write-off for you and a contribution for BOSS. Volunteers of America processes car donations for us. For more details:

Shop and Support!

The following organizations donate part of their proceeds to BOSS:

  • Igive.com – shop at this online mall with over 680 of your favorite stores.
  • Escrip – register your loyalty, credit, or debit cards with the program and participating retailers will automatically pass up to 5% of your purchases onto BOSS when you shop in stores and restaurants in the Bay Area.
  • Bayflora – buy ornamental, edible and unusual plants and part of the proceeds can be donated to the charity of your choice—just write BOSS on the check out page.
