How can Foundations Contribute?

Our foundation partners provide essential assistance, allowing BOSS to continue to fight against homelessness and poverty.

Grants

BOSS’s foundation partners are large and small, and make many kinds of grants—general operating support, project support, technology upgrades, organizational development, and more. Some have made grants to BOSS for years, while others are new supporters. All are deeply valued, and make a difference in the lives of our homeless clients.

We are honored to be long-time recipients of grants from the San Francisco Foundation, Evelyn and Walter Haas Fund, Lowell Berry Foundation, and others who have each supported our work for more than two decades.

We consider it a duty to spend all grant money wisely and effectively, and the fact that so many of our grantors return year after year lets us know we are achieving our aim.

Other ways to contribute

In addition to single or ongoing grants, foundations can also help us in the following ways:

  • Connecting BOSS with other potential funders—making introductions
  • Sponsoring funder round tables on homelessness issues—inviting organizations to speak
  • Encouraging employee giving
  • Gift matching
  • Organizing employee volunteer days
  • Giving goods/equipment
  • Serving on nonprofit Boards

We would love the opportunity to discuss how our goals and programs complement your funding objectives. If you would like to find out more about how your company or foundation can support BOSS’s solutions to homelessness, please contact:
